The state of our body changes with time and periodic health screening allows for the early detection of diseases previously unknown to the individual. Many of us generally only consider important health issues such as diabetes, high blood pressure, high blood cholesterol, heart diseases or other health related conditions, only after they have been diagnosed. All of these conditions can potentially be detected and early treatment instituted if we take the first step to go for health screening.
As part of our awareness programme to educate the elderly on the importance of good health, HNF has collaborated with sponsors to provide free health screening tailored for the elderly residents living in the heartland districts in Singapore. Home Nursing Foundation’s health screening package includes:
1. Blood Cholesterol Test
2. Blood Glucose Test
3. Blood Pressure Measurement
4. Body Mass Index
5. Health Advice and Recommendation
Emphasizing the importance of health screening and making it accessible to them is the first step in preventing future health conditions. It is important to educate the elderly to enhance their lives and encourage them to lead a healthy lifestyle so that they can transit into their golden years with hope and dignity.
