Home Nursing Foundation (HNF) kicked-off the Season of Goodwill 2010 with Health Minister Khaw Boon Wan flagging off HNF Charity Walk at East Coast Park on 14 November 2009. Minister Khaw was joined by some 650 individuals from the Nursing and Healthcare community, the corporate sectors and pre-school children to help raise funds for Home Nursing Foundation. Funds raised will be used to subsidize nursing costs of our frail elderly patients, and to enable us to provide additional assistance to our needy patients.
As part of the fund raising effort, Moove Media donated 5 cows which were adopted by Modern Montessori International, The Sennheiser Group, Little Village. on the Grange, Singapore Health Services (Singhealth) and Goh Foundation. Each of the sponsors contributed $5,000 to HNF, while Goh Foundation contributed $10,000. Together with the generous donation and support from various hospital and organizations, HNF managed to raise a near sum of S$150,000
Other than a day filled with fun and free health-screening, HNF Charity Walk 2009 reflects the close collaboration between HNF, the hospitals and healthcare partners. It also shows the close relationship between MOH and VWOs like HNF to prepare for an ageing population. This walk also shows our commitment to work closely with the major healthcare providers to make the transition from hospital to home care smoother for our elderly patients and their caregivers.
