Home Nursing Foundation (HNF)

Most of our patients are the needy aged sick who have chronic illnesses like diabetes, hypertension, stroke and heart disease. Most of them live alone or have limited family support. We believe that the elderly should continue to be active in the community and age with dignity in their golden years. Our home nursing services serve to alleviate the burden of the caregivers as well as enhance the quality of life of the patient by extending long-term care with compassion and a listening ear. Most of our patients forge strong friendships with our nurses.

Outreach and Befriending
If you possess a great personality and would like to continually engage our caregivers who have to shoulder the burden of caring for their loved ones on a long-term basis, join our team of befrienders where you will be trained to understand the needs of the caregivers and their loved ones so that you can offer comfort to them. You will be able to provide a listening ear as well as be an additional resource for them, thus enhancing the lives of our patients.

Home Visits
A large proportion of our patients have difficulties sustaining their daily expenses and need assistance for their basic necessities. If you are passionate about helping our needy patients and their families in their daily living, do ioin us in sponsoring and distributing the food hampers that contain daily necessities to our needy patients as well as offer them your companionship and listening ear. This will bring much joy and cheer to our patients.

During the festive season, we would also like to invite you to spruce up and decorate homes of our patients so that they can also partake in the celebrations of the season.

Fund-raising
Annually, we need to raise about $1.5 million to continue the provision of subsidized home nursing services to a majority of our patients. A large majority of our patients need long term care due to the chronic illnesses hence many of them need assistance and we do not believe in turning away any patient who needs our services. If you can contribute by providing support to our fund-raising events, this will directly benefit the patients in our care.

Database management
To ensure effective management of our programs, we need to constantly update our database of volunteers, donors, and supporters. You can play a very important role by helping us add members to our family of supporters so that we can continually engage the community in contributing to the lives of our beneficiaries. By investing a little bit of your time and your expertise, you can make a difference to the lives of our beneficiaries
