Social Service Tribe Study Award 2023

Offered by Home Nursing Foundation (HNF), the Social Service Tribe Study Award provides students from qualifying courses of study with the opportunity to pursue a meaningful career in social service.

  • Physiotherapy (Undergraduate Programme)

 

Eligibility

The Social Service Tribe Study Award programme supports both full-term and mid-term applications.

Applicant must meet the following eligibility:

  • Be a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident who is willing to take up Singapore Citizenship;
  • Be a full-time undergraduate student who has gained admission into one of the supported courses of study in a local institution recognised by Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC);
  • Currently not a full-time employee at any organisation;
  • Currently not receiving any scholarships or sponsorships that may affect bond obligation with HNF;
  • Preferably have a GPA of more than 60%;
  • Be able to serve a bond period with HNF;
  • Be able to find two sureties for bond application; and
  • Has no conflict of interest with HNF

 

Other pre-requisites:

  • Possess positive attitude
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills and ability to relate and communicate with different stakeholders
  • Demonstrated abilities to adapt to various work setting (e.g. Day Rehab / Patient’s Home)
  • Enjoy working with patients and their caregivers

 

Commitment

You will have to serve a bond with Home Nursing Foundation after completion of your studies. The bond duration depends on the type of the study award.

Note: 

¹ The type of study award will depend on the number of remaining academic years left in the awardees’ studies

² The Study Award amount is the same as the current Awards scheme. Similarly, it is also given as a lump sum amount.

³ To be eligible for the mid-term Study Award, applicants should apply by the first year of their final academic year.

 

Development Opportunities

Our AHPC registered therapists will guide the awardees in their work, having job shadowing, as well as a weekly review of their job. We also work closely with other healthcare professionals. During the course of their study, awardees will be provided with internship opportunities in home care and day rehab settings to strengthen their learning. Upon their employment / graduation, awardees will continue their learning and development through required and relevant training courses.
